Dr. Gerald Cibis

Dr. Cibis is a Board certified ophthalmologist specializing in pediatric ophthalmology and adult eye muscle surgery. At the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Dr. Cibis is instrumental in developing new techniques to diagnose and treat eye diseases in children.

Dr. Cibis authors over 100 peer reviewed articles and book chapters.  His current research interest includes computerization of video vision development for screening and documentation of pediatric eye problems.

He championed surgical techniques for pediatric glaucoma and described a new congenital glaucoma entity (iris pupil membrane with goniodysgenesis). He is actively researching electrophysiology and vision physiology directing lab for over 25 years.
